The second train set for the under-construction metro rail service arrived at Diabari jetty on Tuesday night, 40 days after the arrival of the first set.
Public relations officer of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited Aftab Mahmud Galib confirmed the arrival of the first berth with two coaches at 7:20 pm and another berth with four others at 8:00 pm.
The shifting of the second set train with six coaches to the Uttara depot would start on Wednesday depending on weather, he said.
The first set of metro train reached the jetty on April 21, almost a year after its manufacturing due to delayed shipment amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The set was shifted to the depot on April 23 and its electric run was done on May 11.
The second set arrived at Mongla port on May 09.
