Mauritius, a popular destination in the Indian Ocean, is yet to be attractive to Bangladeshi visitors.
In the past year, only 1,157 Bangladeshi tourists visited the panoramic island, while 1.34 million tourists from all over the world made their footsteps in one of the best African destinations.
Total tourists arrival in Mauritius increased by 5.20 per cent in the past year.
Highest number of visitors came to the island from France in 2017. The number was 273,419, followed by 149,807 British visitors.
Other major tourist sources include Reunion Island (a French department in the Indian Ocean), Germany, South Africa, India, and China.
