Runner set to launch three-wheeler by September, says Palak

Runner, the country's first motorcycle manufacturer and exporter company, is set to launch a three-wheeler by September next, said State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Junaid Ahmed Palak.

As a result, Bangladesh will no longer have to import CNG from abroad.

Later, this engine-powered car will be replaced by an electric three-wheeler, and step by step, affordable, sustainable electric two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles will be produced and Runner will become 'Tesla' of Bangladesh one day.

He made the remarks at an exchange meeting with journalists after visiting the Runner Automobile Factory in Bhaluka, Mymensingh on Thursday, reports UNB.

Palak said the Runner Automobile Factory would be assisted in research and development by ICT Department's A2I's "I Lab".

With the policy support of the government, Runner would also export motor vehicles made in the country, Palak hopes.

Palak said if there is continuity of government, Bangladesh will be established as one of the most promising countries in the world after Japan and South Korea by 2041.

" I will soon talk with the Minister of Roads and Communications so that the electric vehicles made in the country can be easily registered."

The Junior Minister expressed his satisfaction and said that in the last 13 years, a 'business friendly environment' has been created in the country and now an organization like Runner is able to run smoothly with the help of young engineers and officials.

Munira Sultana, a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and Anir Chowdhury, Policy Adviser of A2I, were present during the visit.
