ActionAid Bangladesh, MACOMM and the University of Liberal Arts of Bangladesh have jointly organised a roundtable discussion titled “Driving Sustainable Consumption and Production: The Role of the Private Sector” at Westin Hotel April 30, said a statement.

Mahbubul Alam Siddiquee, Sr. Assistant Chief, General Economic Division, Planning Commission, Mirza Shawkat, Director, Department of Environment, Bangladesh Government, Farah Kabir, Country Director, ActionAid Bangladesh, Anjum Rasna Hasan, Head of Sustainability, Grameenphone, Khurshid Alam, Assistant Country Director, UNDP, Sohel Ahmed, Managing Director, Grameen Shakti, Mashfique Ibne Akbar, Pvt. Sector Development Advisor, Department for International Development, Md. Mahbubul Alam Siddiquee, Sr. Assistant Chief, General Economic Division, Planning Commission, and Mirza Shawkat, Director, Department of Environment, Bangladesh Government will attend the event.
The round table is to bring the key business and private organisations to address issues focused on promising practices in production which promotes long term sustainability and reduction in carbon footprint. We are also keen to learn about the sustainable practices of key private sector actors and receive inputs into the 10-year Framework of Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) in Bangladesh.
