Managing director of ETBL Securities & Exchange Ltd Mr Rizwan Rahman has been re-elected as president of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), while Arman Haque has been elected as the senior vice president and Monowar Hossain has been re-elected as the vice president for 2022.
The new Board of Directors took charge at the DCCI’s 60th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Wednesday, said a press release.
The newly elected directors are Malik Talha Ismail Bari, Md Abdul Mannan, Md Habib Ullah Tuhin, Md Junaed Ibna Ali, Sameer Sattar and S. M. Golam Faruk Alamgir.
Re-elected DCCI President Mr Rahman heads several units of ETBL Holdings Ltd, namely financial services, dredging infrastructure, commodity trade, cold storage, furniture and print media.
He is a director of Eastland Insurance Company Ltd and International Publications Ltd – the owning company of the country’s premium business daily The Financial Express.
Since his engagement with DCCI in 2006, Mr Rahman has contributed to the development of the private sector.
He also served as the director of Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI), Bangladesh Philippines Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BPCCI) and vice president of Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DBCCI) for the improvement of multilateral trade and investment relations. Mr Rahman also served as the president of DBCCI in 2021.
Newly elected senior vice president of DCCI Mr Arman Haque is the chairman of InnStar Ltd and Arman Haque Denims Ltd.
He is also the managing director of Gas 1 Limited and House of Sunshine Ltd. He completed his postgraduate degree in Leadership & Human Resource Management from Northeastern University, USA.
Re-elected vice president of DCCI Mr Monowar Hossain is the proprietor of Monowar Trading. He is also involved in the business of importing reconditioned vehicles from Japan. He previously served DCCI as its vice president for the term 2021. He completed his graduation in business from Dhaka. Mr Hossain is also a member of Uttara Club Ltd.
