Rick Haque Sikder has lost his directorship of the National Bank Limited (NBL) as the central bank refused to extend his tenure in absence of a CIB (Credit Information Bureau) clearance.
"We've refused to renew his directorship mainly due to lack of CIB clearance," Md Serajul Islam, an executive director and spokesperson of the Bangladesh Bank (BB), told the FE on Monday.
Mr Sikder failed to obtain the CIB clearance due to loan default, he explained.
Another director of the NBL, Parveen Haque Sikder, got an extension for three years, according to the spokesperson.
In a report published in the FE’s Tuesday’s print issue, it was mentioned that Ron Haque Sikder lost his directorship. The inadvertent mistake is regretted.
