A four-day REHAB Fair Chattogram-2021 kicked off at the city's Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View hotel on Thursday.
State Minister of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid inaugurated the fair as chief guest on Thursday morning.
Addressing the function, Nasrul Hamid said, "The government has taken up a project to set all cables of Chattogram city underground."
He said, "The government will ensure power for all time. Besides, the government has taken up a project to produce power from garbage."
Mentioning that the country will come under 100 per cent electrification in the Mujib Year, Nasrul Hamid said, "Not only in the power sector, the government has taken up many projects for development in Chattogram. We have taken up a project on modernising the Eastern Refinery in Chattogram. We are fixing pipe lines under the sea to ensure the oil supply from ship to Eastern Refinery within only 12 hours."
President of REHAB Alamgir Shamsul Alamin Kajal presided over the inaugural function while Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury addres-sed the function as special guest.
