A senior minister has said that no one will be allowed to run real estate and housing business in the country except the members of Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB).
While speaking at the inaugural programme of the 'REHAB Fair-2017' at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BCCI) in Dhaka on Thursday, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said, "Only REHAB members will run the real estate and housing business in the country."
He also said that he would talk to Finance Minister AMA Muhith about the problems the real estate and housing sector is now facing.
Speaking on the occasion, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said the government will start providing the industrial sector gas connection from April of the next year.
BSS said acting president of REHAB Nurunnabi Chowdhury presided over the opening session of the five-day fair, while vice-president (first) Aliakat Ali Bhuiyan, vice president (finance) engineer Sohel Rana, REHAB director and fair committee chairman Md Shakil Kamal Chowdhury and REHAB director Kamal Mahmud, among others, spoke at the programme.
There are 205 stalls at the fair. Besides, 30 building materials producing companies and 13 financial institutions are also taking part in the fair.
Interested people can visit the fair from 10am to 9pm paying entry fee of Tk 50 each. Anyone can visit the fair five times by purchasing a multiple ticket at Tk 100.
REHAB offers different prizes, including car, motorcycle, fridge, TV and Washing Machine against entry tickets.
