Different products of 52 companies are substandard, according to a report of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI).
The BSTI issued show cause notices to those companies, to this end, and said will take stern actions against them in the coming days.
Besides, it will intensify its anti-adulteration drives across the country for ensuring safe food during the holy month of Ramadan.
Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun disclosed the information on Thursday at a press conference, organised by Ministry of Industries held at its office in the capital.
The BSTI took 406 samples of 27 types of products which is used for making items of Sehri and Iftar.
