President Abdul Hamid on Thursday sought United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s assistance in employing both skilled and semi-skilled manpower from Bangladesh in their country.
The president made the request to outgoing UAE Ambassador Dr Saeed Bin Hajar Al-Shehi when the latter paid a visit to the former at Bangabhaban in the afternoon.
Hamid also asked the envoy to conclude a Visa Exemption Agreement (for diplomatic and official passport holders) between the two countries to facilitate easy movement of people, said the president’s Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin.
As per a UNB report, Hamid also urged UAE entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh especially in the fields of infrastructure, power and energy, tourism and hospitability, added Joynal.
About the upcoming Dubai Expo-2020, the president said Bangladesh is ready to extend all possible cooperation to the UAE government in the process of preparation for organising the mega global event.
The UAE envoy expressed his gratitude to President Hamid for his heartfelt cooperation during his assignments in Dhaka in last four years.
He hoped that the relation between the two countries would be further consolidated in the days to come.
