Pran, one of the country's leading agro-based food companies, has fetched export orders worth $5.25 million at the 'SIAL Food Fair' held in France recently.
Around 400 importers from 85 countries visited Pran's stalls at the five-day fair that began on October 21.
This year, about 7,000 exhibitors from 109 countries participated in the fair held at Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre in Paris.
The Pran Group took part in the fair for the ninth time, said a press release.
Md Mizanur Rahman, chief operating officer at Pran Export Ltd., said the group displayed over 500 products, including 20 new products, in its two stalls at the fair.
Candy, chocolate, lollipop, juice, noodles and biscuit items were the centre of attraction among the buyers, he said.
Pran products are now being exported to 141 countries. Venezuela, Kosovo, Serbia, Costa Rica and the Czech Republic have been added to the list of new importers who booked Pran products at the fair, said the official.
Kamruzzaman Kamal, marketing director of Pran-RFL Group, said the main goal of joining the fair was to expand the export market for its products.
The participation in the fair has created a scope to spread Pran products across the world as SIAL Fair is considered one of the largest food fairs in the world, he said.
Traders and buyers from every corner of the globe visit the fair, he added.
