Price list mandatory for DITF food stalls

Police will shut down food stalls if price chart is not displayed at Dhaka International Trade Fare (DITF) beginning from January 9 at Sher-e-Banglanagar in the capital.

The decision was taken in a meeting on 'Security and Traffic Management' of the 24th DITF held at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) headquarters on Saturday, reports UNB.

The DMP has already taken tight security measures in and around the DITF premises.

"If the price list is not displayed in food court, police in association with the DITF authority will close the shop to prevent irregularities, DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said while addressing the meeting.

As part of security measures, visitors will have to pass through metal detectors and archways, said the DMP boss adding, "There will be adequate lighting system in and around the fair premises."

The entire fair area and its surroundings will be monitored round the clock through adequate number of CCTV cameras.

Special police team will remain standby to check black marketing of tickets as well as eve teasing, the DMP commissioner said.

He also said the DITF premises will keep hawkers and beggars free for security reason.

Senior DMP officers and representatives of various stakeholders including intelligence agencies were also present in the meeting.
