Omera move to boost up LPG mkt in Bangladesh

Omera Gas One Ltd.(OGL), with a view to promote extensive use of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) as fuel for vehicles and boost up LPG (Auto Gas ) users in Bangladesh, has set the price to BDT 42/Litre and taken initiative of keeping their Autogas Stations open for 24 hours.

"Additionally, the company will co-operate with the Land Transport Department to carry out strict measures for LPG vehicles when they're brought in to extend their registrations and maintain the Japanese standard Omera Gas One follows," Tanveer A. Chowdhury, Business Development Manager, OGL and a director of East Coast Group said.

"All these actions being taken concerning LPG and CNG suggests that the cost to convert gasoline engines for use with LPG is less than half of those for CNG," he added.

The availability of LPG stations is going to outweigh all the debate whether to choose LPG or CNG thanks to the government's relentless drive to promote LPG that the future of LPG is going to be incomparable with CNG, whether in terms of convenience or cost, as well as the mileage between each refueling. LPG vehicles can travel four times the distance than CNG.

The progression of such steps along with the obvious benefits indicates that LPG is surely a better choice.

However, the drivers along with the owners should educate themselves more about the difference between LPG converted vehicles and CNG converted vehicles. Therefore, convert your vehicle to LPG today and enjoy the benefits of the future because LPG is not only the best alternative, it is the only alternative!

"For the past few years everybody in the country have been debating about the alternative fuels for auto motive sectors, and it came down to asking one fundamental question, which is to know whether to choose LPG or CNG (Compressed Natural Gas)," he commented.

These questions are highly interesting because most of the motorists in Bangladesh also wonder the same. I personally too hear the same questions every day while working and wonder why prefer LPG instead of CNG as an alternative for fuel.

"First of all, every OPEC (oil producing nation) knows that if it allows the price to rise, the motorists and automobile manufacturers will try and find alternative fuels. As for choosing LPG over CNG, the answer depends on many factors but thankfully we no longer have to wait."

LPG when used as fuel for vehicle is said to be Autogas. People still hesitate to go for LPG as their vehicle fuel because they are unaware about the absolute benefits LPG provides. With Autogas (LPG), engine performance is almost the same as petrol. The tank weight and pressure is much lower than that of CNG tank. It's an economical and cleaner fuel which makes it environment-friendly too.

Moreover, the government announced that the retail price of CNG will be raised according to the procedures. That being said, LPG will have additional benefit of being cost-effective too.

The government has also shown interest to promote the expansion of LPG stations so that consumers would not have to line up for hours when refueling. The Government is also planning strategic policies that indicate the full support to LPG operating companies for keeping the price stable in the coming future.
