Branches of the country’s different banks having full-fledged online facilities increased by 12 per cent in the last fiscal year (FY21).
Statistics available with Bangladesh Bank showed that the number of fully online branches stood at 10,780 at the end of June this year, which was 9,623 at the end of June last year.
Central bank statistics also showed that all rural branches of the country are online now. The number is 5,136.
Again, except seven, all the urban bank branches are also fully facilitated to provide banking services online. The number stood at 5,644 at the end of the last fiscal year.
