Financial Reporting Council (FRC) Chairman CQK Mustaq Ahmed has said that there is nothing to worry about the FRC as this council will not impose anything irrationally on the auditors and companies.
He came up with the remarks at a seminar in Dhaka on Monday.
Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) organised the seminar titled “Financial Reporting Act 2015 and its Economic Implications” at its auditorium.
Regarding a concern by auditors and businesses over multi regulations and over regulations in financial sector, Mr Ahmed said FCR will coordinate with other regulators and fill the gap in this regard for the best corporate practices in the country.
“The concern should not be about the regulations, it should rather be as to whether the regulator is paving the way to run operations comfortably,” he said.
Director of Bangladesh Bank Aftab Ul Islam, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) President Adeeb Hossain Khan, and Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) President Jamal Ahmed Choudhury, among others, spoke at the programme.
