The ninth edition of 'Bangladesh Denim Expo' is being held in the capital aiming to showcase Bangladeshi denim brands to the global market and to make Bangladesh a ‘one-stop sourcing platform’ for denim.

The two-day expo, kicked off on Wednesday at the International Convention City Bashundhara with a special theme focusing on 'Simplicity in Supply Chain', will end today (Thursday.)

A total of 62 exhibitors from across the globe took part in this year's event to attract the highest number of visitors, especially from the international arena, the organisers said in a statement.

On the first day of the show, visitors were seen roaming at different stalls, according to the organisers.

The event also aims at promoting a much simpler and much easier definition to understand sustainability and ecology in denim.

The expo is expected to focus on how to make things simpler to understand demand of buyers, how to prepare for and negotiate them, and how the denim industry of Bangladesh can profit from more simplicity.

During the two-day event, three panel discussions on 'Simplicity from designers to consumers - the collaboration', 'Simplicity and standardisation in the apparel industry', and 'Simplicity in production - innovation, technology and optimised handling of resources' are being held on the sidelines.
