The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is going to launch a hotline for facilitating businesses to obtain various customs-related services, said an order of the Customs Wing on Thursday.
The hotline services (16134) would be available from May 15 and remain open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays for providing simplified services of the Asycuda World system and customs.
Stakeholders and exporters-importers would be able to know about customs rules and laws, and get advices of customs officials and other information by calling the hotline.
However, regular call charges would be applicable for availing services from the hotline.
Currently, some six customs houses, 26 customs stations, 20 off-docks, and the export processing zones (EPZs) are connected with the Asycuda World system.
The importers, exporters, clearing and forwarding agents, shipping agents, freight forwarders, feeder operators, port authorities, commercial banks, Bangladesh Bank, Sonali Bank, Bangladesh Biman and other government and private entities are users of the Asycuda World.
The NBR is working to integrate more relevant services to establish interconnectivity for the sake of ensuring simplified services.
