A member of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has said they have initiated a process to withdraw the existing value-added tax (VAT) on the imports of edible oils to curb the increasing trend of the price in the local market.
NBR Member (VAT Policy) Zakia Sultana on Wednesday said an announcement would come soon in this regard, according to bdnews24.com.
Earlier, the business community urged the government to withdraw the 15pc VAT on imports of edible oils.
