The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended concessionary duty benefit on sugar import until May 15, 2022.
The facility has been extended following the price spiral in the international market due to Ukraine-Russia war.
The customs wing of the board issued a Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) in this regard on Sunday.
The reduced duty was scheduled to expire on February 28, 2022.
Last October, NBR cut the regular duty on import of sugar by 10 per cent to rein in its prices in the local market.
