Owners of steel and re-rolling industries has announced to cut Tk 1,000 from the existing price of the per tonne MS rod.
The industries owners came up with the announcement at a meeting with Industries Secretary Muhammad Abdullah at his office.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues, including the prices of the MS rod and cement, reports BSS.
Muhammad Abdullah said the government is providing all sorts of efforts to the industries to keep the price of MS rod, MS angle and cement affordable level to customers as these products are the main construction materials.
The owners of the industries said they will reduce the price of these products as they are committed to contribute to the implementation of the government's mega projects.
