Mohammad Mohiuddin Ahmed FCA, executive director of Financial Reports Monitoring Division at the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), has been appointed member secretary of the auditing watchdog.
Under the Ministry of Finance, FRC is the national regulatory authority of accounting, reporting and auditing professions in Bangladesh.
Mr. Ahmed has more than 19 years of experience in the banking, trade and service sectors.
Prior to joining FRC, Mohiuddin had worked for Standard Chartered Bank, Bangladesh for about 12 years in different senior positions, including head of regulatory reporting, head of group financial and regulatory reporting, head of finance operations risk & controls, etc.
Mohiuddin was a member of Bangladesh Country Leadership Team of SCB and before joining SCB in 2006, he had worked for Transcom Group as manager (Accounts) for four years. Mr. Ahmed is a fellow member (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).
He got Master of Commerce and Bachelor of Commerce degrees in accounting (both First Class) from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
He also attended various training courses on leadership at home and abroad.
