MISL wins National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award for contribution in economy

Millennium Information Solution Ltd. (MISL) has been awarded the National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award-2020 in a programme on Sunday.

The enterprise received the award for its contribution to the national economy by creating jobs and helping in keeping remittances in the country by providing core banking solutions to banks and non-banking financial institutions. 

The Ministry of Industries has selected the enterprises in five categories - large, medium, small, micro and state-owned. MISL won the first prize (IT Sector) under the Medium Industry category. 

Mahmud Hossain, CEO and managing director of Millennium Information Solution Ltd, received the award from Minister of Industries Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, in a programme held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon in the capital today, said a press release.

MISL is the only core Islamic banking solution provider in Bangladesh that has focused solely on Islamic finance for more than 20 years.

MISL's other flagship products are a web-based 'Human Resource Management Solution (HRMS)' and 'Risk based Internal Audit System. 

“Ababil”, which is the flagship Islamic Core Banking Solution of MISL has been rated by Gartner Inc., USA, as one of the top ten (10) Islamic Banking Solutions in the world.

The product has been certified by ISRA Consultancy Malaysia for being Shariah-compliant with various standards like AAOIFI, IIFA by OIC, MWL and IFSB standards. It has also been highly rated by Oracle Inc., IBM Inc. and its various modules are currently being used by 15 Banks and 2 Non-Banking Financial Institutions, the release added.
