The government has digitised the services related to sending manpower abroad for ensuring transparent and hassle-free facilities to the aspirants.
Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad inaugurated the services at a city hotel on Thursday when Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was present.
Workers can avail services related to registration, job searching, selection of recruitment agency, enrollment for training, BMET clearance and smart card through the 'Ami Probashi app'.
Outbound workers will get the facilities with lower fees and charges, and within a short time.
Tarique Ekramul Haque, managing director of the app, said the application users would be 3.5 million, while 1.8 million aspirants got BMET registration and more than 500 recruitment agencies have joined it.
Over 2,000 job offers have so far been found on the app. Besides, 1.5 million workers have registered for Covid-19 vaccination through the app, he added.
Imran Ahmad said the impact of the digitalisation will continue for a longer period of time while the workers will get hassle-free services because of this digitised system.
Ahmed Munirus Saleheen, secretary at the expatriates' welfare ministry, Md Shahidul Alam, director general of Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training, were present at the programme among others.
