With the aim to modernise and advancement of local leather industry by binging global technology to its doorsteps, a three-day leather technology fair started on Thursday.
The sixth edition of the fair, titled 'Leathertech Bangladesh -2018' is being held at the International Convention City, Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.
The event is being organised by ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Limited.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest.
Over 300 exhibitors from nearly 20 countries with CLE and IFCOMA pavilion from India, Wenzhou and Jinjiang Association pavilion from China and an exclusive finished leather pavilion from Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) are showcasing different products in the expo.
Besides, the 2nd edition of the Bangladesh Leather Footwear & Leather Goods International Sourcing Show-BLLISS 2018, organised by the Leather Goods and Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB), is also being held at the same venue.
The event is showcasing finished leather, machinery for tanning leather, manufacturing footwear and leather goods along with components, dyes and chemicals, accessories and allied products.
