A three-day laptop fair will begin on Thursday in the capital aiming to help meet the country's growing demand for the portable computing device.
The expo, to be held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC), is expected to create greater interaction among buyers and sellers at one place.
The fair's organiser Expo Maker made the announcement on Sunday evening at a press conference at a city hotel, a statement said.
Chairman of Global Brand Private Limited Abdul Fattah, Dell Bangladesh Country Manager Md. Atiqur Rahman, and Expo Maker's Strategic Planner Muhammad Khan were present at the press conference, among others.
The organisers said around 30 local and international technology brands will showcase different types of laptops and computer accessories at the fair.
They have also announced discount prices for various types of laptops and computer accessories along with other offers at the expo.
The expo will remain open from 10:00am to 8:00pm every day.
The entry fee is Tk 30.
However, physically challenged people and school students clad in uniform or furnishing identity cards will be allowed to visit the fair free of cost.
The expo will be posted on the official Facebook page (facebook.com/laptopfair.bd) and techshohor.com with real time updates, news and pictures.
Computer accessories brand A4Tech is the title sponsor of the 20th edition of the fair, while computer brands Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo are the co-sponsors.
