KSRM increases salaries of 4,000 staff members amid rising commodity prices

Kabir Steel Re-Rolling Mills (KSRM), one of the leading business conglomerates in the country, awarded a special increment to its 4,000 low-income employees to help them cope with ongoing inflation and the hike in commodity prices.

The official announcement to award the increment has been made by the company recently.

The employees, who get less than Tk 25,000 as salary, were awarded the increment with effect from August 1.

The officials concerned of the company said that the increment had been given as per the annual increment rate. However, this salary hike will not affect the regular salary increment awarded every year.

Earlier, in January, KSRM had increased the salaries of all its employees to deal with the financial crisis caused by Covid-19.

Meherul Karim, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KSRM Group, said that prices of almost all essential commodities had increased suddenly.

"The low-income employees of the company have been going through difficulties to cope with the increasing commodity prices," he added.

"As the government has taken various initiatives to deal with the situation, KSRM has also taken the initiative to stand by its employees as it always does," added Mr Karim.

It may be mentioned that KSRM Group is one of the leading steel manufacturers in the country that has more than 10 concerns, creating employment for more than 6,000 people.
