Local jewelers on Tuesday revised gold prices upward to adjust with the change in the international market.
Hallmark 22-carat gold will be sold for Tk 6,400 per gram, which is Tk 170 up from Tk 6,230 previously, Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BJS) said in a statement.
The new price is effective from today (Wednesday).
As per the new pricing, per bhori (11.664 grams) gold will be sold at Tk 74,650.
The trade body said the global economic crisis due to pandemic, US-China trade war, and fall in oil price are some of the causes for the volatile gold market across the globe.
