The Department of Health has withdrawn the mandatory institutional quarantine for Bangladeshis returning from India.
However, the 14-day home quarantine is mandatory for the returnees from India with negative corona certificates.
Passengers travelling to India do not even need the Home Ministry permission. The only condition is negative certificate of corona from RT PCR within 72 hours to travel both the countries.
Dr Yusuf Ali, Sharsha Upazila Health Officer, confirmed that the order is effective from Wednesday (September 8) morning. He said, "Following the order of the Ministry of Health, passengers returning from India now will have to produce 72 hours’ RT PCR Corona Negative Certificate".
However, passport passengers who are corona-positive and have coronary symptoms must be in isolation.
Jashore's Sharsha Upazila Corona Prevention Committee President and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mir Alif Reza said, "Institutional quarantine has been withdrawn and home quarantine has been made compulsory for passengers returning from India".
Passengers having 72 hours Corona Negative Certificate from India will have to stay in Home Quarantine for 14 days.
