The commerce ministry has formed a high-powered committee to decide as to whether Evaly would be granted more time to reply in details to its show-cause notice, sources said.
The committee will take decision in this regard at a meeting which may take place on August 11 at the commerce ministry.
The eight-member committee has been formed with representatives from commerce, home and law ministries, and ICT division, National Board of Revenue (NBR), Bangladesh Bank (BB) and Bangladesh Competition Commission, they added.
Commerce secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh is the president of the committee and Md Hafizur Rahman, additional secretary and chief of Central Digital Commerce Cell, is the member secretary of the committee, a senior official said.
When contacted, Mr Rahman said, "The commerce ministry has constituted a committee on Evaly issue and the committee will sit in a meeting on August 11 next to take next course of action in this regard."
