The Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) formally added nine more services to its virtual One Stop Service (OSS) platform on Thursday to facilitate more investment for the businesses.
With the new ones, a total of 20 services are now available with the BHTPA online OSS, the agency said in a statement.
Hosne Ara Begum, the BHTPA Managing Director (MD), inaugurated the services at a ceremony, held at the BHTPA conference centre in the city's Agargaon area.
According to it, the investors can now avail environment clearance certificate within a short time from any place through the online OSS.
Currently, the BHTPA OSS is providing a total of 148 services, of which 20 are online.
The BHTPA MD, in her speech on the occasion, thanked the officials concerned, including the Director General of the Department of Environment (DoE), for their support to integrate the services online.
Hosne Ara Begum also called on other agencies to extend their support for the online service integration, so that the investors can easily complete necessary process to start their businesses in the country's hi-tech parks.
"The integration of online services will help the country make significant progress in the ease of doing business index," she added.
The BHTPA inked an agreement with Business Automation, a local information technology (IT) company, in April 2018 to launch the online OSS.
As per the OSS act, several government agencies, including the BHTPA, the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), and the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), are implementing the OSS centre, which will provide services both online and offline.
