Greeting cards embroidered with Bengali alphabets or signs are being sold like hotcakes on the eve of Pahela Baishakh.
People were seen buying cards from different holiday card shops in the city to wish their friends and family.
Rehnuma Sayed, a private job holder buying cards from a shop in Paltan area said, “I have collected these to wish my friend and colleagues”.
Shop owners said every year on different occasions, people came to greeting card shops looking for their desired design and colour for the cards.
For they usually bring a long a sample, he added.
Mahmudul Hasan, customer officer at online shopping ‘Upoharbd’ said on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh, they are offering greeting cards along with roses for their valued customer as Nababarsha gift.
