Grameen Telecom has rejected a report on hiring a lobbyist by it to legal battle describing it as completely false, baseless and imaginary.
The shareholder of Grameenphone on Sunday said in a statement that they have noticed a report published in some electronic and print media on that issue recently.
Describing the appointment of a lobbyist for the ongoing legal process on workers profit participation fund (WPPF) as untrue, Grameen Telecom said such news may create confusion among people.
“A total of 107 former and current employees of Grameen Telecom have filed a case on the WPPF issue with the 3rd Labour Court, which is under trial. Necessary action will be taken based on the verdict of the cases,” the statement said.
Recently, several media published a report on appointing a lobbyist for winning a case citing a statement of the Grameen Telecom Workers Employees Union.
At a press conference at the National Press Club on Saturday, union leaders claimed that Grameen Welfare and Dhaka Logistics Firm signed an agreement to win the cases.
