Govt signs deals with five institutions on low-cost home loans

The government has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with five state-owned financial enterprises to sanction home loans for its employees.

Md Jafar Uddin, an additional secretary of the finance ministry, singed the deals with the managing directors of Sonali, Janata, Agrani and Rupali banks and Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith was present during the agreement signing ceremony, bdnews24 reports.

Eligible government employees can apply online seeking home loans with a low-interest rate. They can borrow up to Tk 7.5 million in home loans with 5 per cent interest from five state-owned financial institutions from Oct 1.
