UK-based green technology company G-Volution has expressed interest to facilitate the conversion of Bangladesh’s diesel-based locomotives into bio-fuel-based ones.
G-Volution and its global partner Xpronet Inc held a meeting in this regard with Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon at the Rail Bhaban in the capital on Tuesday.
Chris Smith, CEO of G-Volution, and Dean Miah, CEO of Xpronet Inc, attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed forming a special committee to which a feasibility study of the conversion of locomotives will be submitted, according to Umbvan Sourcing, local agent of the Xpronet Inc.
The UK delegation gave a presentation on how to ensure environment-friendly railway transportation.
The representatives of G-Volution and Xpronet visited the locomotive workshop at Kamlapur after the meeting, the release added.
