Fourth entrepreneurship boot camp for girls begins in Dhaka

The fourth innovation and entrepreneurship boot camp for girls has begun in the city, aimed at disseminating information for the process of startup and entrepreneurship.  

A good number of girls have started participating from different districts, including Dhaka, at the three-day event inaugurated on Thursday.

The event was organised by Bangladesh Open-Source Network (BDOSN) at the city’s Lalmatia Apon Uddog Foundation as part of enabling the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Bangladesh 2030.

The event has begun with registration and group formation.

“Participants will be trained on how to create a project, raise funds, reach out or contact investors, start or implement a startup, including company registration, and creating legal documents,” Jahanara Amir Jimi, head of Operations of BDOSN told the Financial Express (FE).

A total of 33 girls from Dhaka, Nilphamari, Khulna, Chittagong, Bogra, Gazipur and Tangail participated in the three-day boot camp, according to the BDOSN.

The first day's sessions included creating business model canvases, challenges of becoming an entrepreneur, developing ideas, networking with experts and teaching digital marketing for small businesses, it added.

The participants also joined various sessions as well to know their queries.

Among others, Nahida Jahan, chief executive officer of Creative Soft Technology, Achia Nila of Women in Digital, and Nasima Akhter, senior assistant secretary of ICT Division , addressed different sessions at the event.
