At least four members of a Bangladeshi family died and two were injured in a road accident in Jeddah on Thursday.
The car carrying the family met with an accident before the Makkah checkpoint on their way to Taif, said expatriate Bangladeshis.
“We have sent our staff to the hospital and can provide details later,” Aminul Islam, labour counsellor at Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah, said.
The deceased were Mashiur Rahman, 47, who from Sayeedbhanga village in Swandip and his three daughters -- Saima, 14, Cynthia, 12, and Sabiha, 9.
Mashiur’s wife and their son Abdur Rahman have been admitted to King Abdul Aziz Hospital, bdnews24 reported.
Mashiur, who ran a business in Taif, lived in the neighbourhood of Nazla in Jeddah with his family, said people known to the family.
His children were students of the Bengali branch of Bangladesh International School and College in Jeddah.
