Four international trade shows kicked off in Dhaka city on Thursday with participation of around 510 companies from more than 24 countries, aimed at developing Bangladesh's readymade garment (RMG) sector.
Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun inaugurated the shows as the chief guest at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.
The shows are the 18th edition of GARMENTECH Bangladesh 2019, 10th edition of International Yarn and Fabrics Sourcing Fair 2019, 10th edition of GAP Expo 2019, and second edition of Bangladesh Printing &Packaging Expo 2019.
Bangladesh Garment Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA), Zakaria Trade and Fair International, and ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd are jointly organising the events.
Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Siddiqur Rahman, BGAPMEA President Abdul Kader Khan, and CEO of Zakaria Trade and Fair International Tipu Sultan Bhuyian, among others, were present on the occasion.
The international trade shows, which will remain open from 11:00am to 7:00pm every day, will end on Sunday (January 20).
