A four-day Thai fair titled 'Thailand's Trade Fair: Top Thai Brands began at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka on Wednesday
The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and Commerce Ministry of Thailand arranged the fair which will continue until March 30.
Addressing the inaugural programme of the trade show Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said there is a huge trade gap between the two countries and stressed the need for taking initiative to reduce the trade gap.
He urged the Thai businesses to invest in Bangladesh., reports UNB
Royal Thai Embassy' minister-counsellor Kraichok Arunpairojkul said that Thailand is keen to have a bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Bangladesh as the country has huge opportunity for trade and investment.
Medicare services, cosmetic, beauty products, spa, electrical appliances, stationery, household products, fresh fruit food, textile and fabric, handbags, jewelry, confectionery and decorative items are being displayed in the fair.
Kazi M Aminul Islam, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), said the relation between Thailand and Bangladesh is being strengthened day by day.
High officials and entrepreneurs from Thailand visited Dhaka and expressed their interest to investment here, he said.
