The '3rd Food & Agro Bangladesh International Expo 2018', '3rd Agro Chem Bangladesh Expo 2018’ and '3rd International Poultry & Livestock Expo 2018’ at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) witnessed huge crowd on Friday - the third day of the four-day exposition.
Food Minister Qamrul Islam inaugurated the trio of expositions on Wednesday.
CEMS Global, in association with CEMS Bangladesh, organised the events.
Besides, CEMS and BSAFE foundations jointly arranged a seminar titled ‘Food Conference Bangladesh 2018’ on Thursday to discuss various issues related to food and agriculture.
The sellers at different stalls reported highest number of visitors on Friday, the weekly holiday. They hoped that more visitors would gather at the exposition venue on Saturday.
Around 130 exhibitors from Thailand, Indonesia, USA, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, China, Russia and Vietnam are showcasing packaging equipment and materials, food processing equipment, processed food, chilled frozen food, food ingredients, including aromas, flavours and fragrances, organic agricultural products, agricultural machinery and equipment, refrigeration technology, digital technology of food and agro as well as tractors and other vehicles at the exhibition.
While visiting the expos, the correspondent found that different companies offered discounts on their products.
Exhibitors said discounts and other offers at the fair attracted many customers to their products.
Mijan, a visitor at the expo, told the FE “I have come to the fair to gain first-hand experience of many foreign food products that are being showcased here. I tasted some delicious food items. Getting to experience diversified foreign food items under one roof is a rare opportunity.”
Sohel Rana, commercial manager of Axon Limited, told the FE that they are producing different food items from Malaysian ingredients.
The company came here for promotional purpose and received positive responses from the visitors, he added.
The organisers said the expos brought together agents, distributors, importers, trading companies, wholesalers, retailers, hotels, business representatives, bulk purchasers and consumers.
It is a one-stop platform to showcase latest developments and emerging technologies in food and agro industries, they added.
The shows will remain open for visitors from 10:30am to 8:30pm every day.
