FBCCI wants formulation of 'Health service Act'

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has urged the government to finalise the 'Health service Act' for the development of private sector health services.

The FBCCI leaders also laid emphasis on formulation of realistic and timely 'Financial Service Act', 'Private Medical College Establishment and Operation Act', and 'Nursing Act'.

They discussed the matters at a meeting of its standing committee relating to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Medical Education and Family Welfare Division) held at its board room in Dhaka.

The apex trade body requested the authorities concerned to include the organisations relating to private sector health service in the formulation process of the said acts, reports BSS.

The speakers at the meeting also emphasised on ensuring 'Accredited Laboratory service' with a view to developing the health service of the country.

They also put emphasis on establishing a 'Central Data System' of the citizens to provide quick and proper medical treatment.

The leaders also urged Bangladesh Bank to take steps for introducing 'Education Loan' for meritorious medical students of low income families.

Dr A B M Harun, Chairman of the Standing Committee, presided over the meeting while Priti Chakraborty, Director In-Charge of the committee was also present.

FBCCI directors Hafez Harun and Yusuf Ashraf attended the meeting.

Chairmen and Directors of Enam Medical College & Hospital, President Abdul Hamid Medical College, Delta Hospital Limited, Rangpur Community Medical College, Aichi Medical College & Hospital, among others, took part in the discussion.
