The country's apex trade body -- FBCCI -- urged the government on Saturday to keep banks open all the five weekdays this week beginning today (Sunday) during the lockdown.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) made the call in a press statement.
As per an earlier decision of the government, banks will remain closed on Sunday and Wednesday this week.
In the statement, FBCCI President Md. Jashim Uddin said the banking services are necessary as export-oriented industries will resume their operation from today (Sunday). So, banks should remain open five weekdays by maintaining health safety rules.
