Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has signed a cooperation agreement with Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) at the MCCI auditorium in Dhaka.
The FBCCI inked the deal with WKO to facilitate, strengthen and diversify the cooperation between the industrial and service sector of both Bangladesh and Austria.
Md. Muntakim Ashraf, acting president of FBCCI, and Dr. Oskar Andesner, head of advantage Austria, signed the agreement at the ‘Bangladesh-Austria Economic and Trade Forum’ held on Wednesday.
Dr. Mashiur Rahman, economic affairs advisor to the prime minister, was present at the programme at the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) as the chief guest.
According to the agreement, both the organisations will exchange business delegations, facilitate contacts between companies of both countries and also will improve the bilateral trade and investment relationship, said a media release.
Ms. Brigitte Oppinger-Walchshofer, Austrian ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr. Shubhashish Bose, secretary of the ministry of commerce, Kazi Aminul Islam, executive chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), and Mahbubul Alam, chairman of BUILD, among others, attended the forum.
A 25 member delegation from Austria and government officials, experts and the representatives of business organisations of Bangladesh also attended the forum.
