The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) requested the government on Saturday for sufficient allocation in the upcoming national budget for the development of country's agriculture sector.
It also stressed the need for utilising the supports of Bangabandhu-1 satellite for technological development in the country's agriculture sector.
The calls of the FBCCI came at a meeting of the apex trade body's standing committee relating to the ministry of agriculture (productivity) at its conference room.
The apex trade body also emphasised on food security and safe food for the betterment of the consumers and using the pesticides in tolerable level to ensure toxic free food.
"Food security is also needed to match with the fast growing development process of the country," said the director-in-charge of the standing committee S. M. Jahangir Hossain said while presenting the detailed future plan of the committee.
