The apex trade body has emphasised on development of rural infrastructure to keep pace with the fast growing development activities of the country.
The body, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), also put emphasis on necessary training & providing loan facilities for the vast number of youths to start new ventures.
The federation leaders came up with this remark at a meeting of its standing committee relating to Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives held on Tuesday in the capital.
The discussants also emphasised on getting proper price of the products farmers produce around the year, and ensuring storage and export facilities for huge amount of products (fruits and vegetables) in particular seasons.
Abdul Hakim Sumon, chairman of the standing committee of the premier umbrella organisation of tradespeople, presided over the meeting.
Gazi Golam Ashria, director in- charge of the committee, presented the detailed future plan of the committee, says a media release.
FBCCI Acting President Md. Muntakim Ashraf and the Directors Md. Abu Naser & Hafez Harun-Or-Roshid also participated in the discussion held at FBCCI Board Room.
Md. Hasanul Islam ndc, Director of Bangladesh Rural Development Board, and Md. Sadek Mridha, DGM of Small Farmers Development Foundation, also spoke on the occasion.
Members from different sectors also took part in the discussion.
