Bangladesh export to India jumped by 18 per cent for the first time in nine months of the current fiscal year (FY18).
The latest statistics available with Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) showed that export to India reached at $616.90 million in July-March period of the current fiscal year.
The amount was $522.83 million in the same period of FY17.
EPB data also showed that total export to India stood at $672.4 million in FY17, while import was $6146.8 million in the same period.
Thus bilateral trade deficit stood at $5473.80 million in the last fiscal year.
Bangladesh is now enjoying tariff-free market access to India for all but 25 products.
