The export-import activities through Benapole Land Port remained suspended for the third consecutive day on Saturday following a strike enforced by five Indian trade organisations at Petrapole.
The trade organisations called the strike on Thursday afternoon protesting the seizure of an Indian truck by members Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on November 8.
BGB recovered a one-shooter gun and two bullets after searching the Indian truck at the Indian terminal of the port on November 8. Later, they seized the lorry, according to a news agency report.
The Indian trade organisations went on the strike claiming that the truck was seized illegally.
Acting director (Traffic) of the port Aminul Islam said, the authorities were trying to end the stalemate.
