Eighth Bangladesh Denim Expo begins with a focus on supply chain equality

The eight edition of ‘Bangladesh Denim Expo’ kicks off in the city on Wednesday focusing on equality in the supply chain to develop better working relationship.

The purpose of the theme equality is to mobilise the stakeholders, especially global brands and retailers, local manufacturers, governments and development partners to establish a more equitable global apparel supply chain, organisers said.

Founder and chief executive officer of Bangladesh Denim Expo Mostafiz Uddin said, “The Expo has already become internationally recognised one-stop sourcing platform for all aspects of jeans wear from fabrics to finishes.”

He said they are expecting a cumulative increase of visitors from different countries in the two-day show at International Convention City Bashundhara.

Some 61 exhibitors from 14 countries including Bangladesh, China, Turkey, Pakistan and India are displaying their latest design and development.

The show is expected to offer a unique experience for exhibitors and visitors to gain a comprehensive insight into Bangladesh denim industry and discover the latest trends that will shape the business in next few years, organisers said.

There would be four seminars on ‘made in Bangladesh-from analogue to digital’, ‘what makes a good jean?’, ‘sustainable production initiatives’ and ‘sustainable finishing today’ during the two-day show, they added.
