East Delta University Business Club (EDUBC) has recently organised its flagship event, A.U.R. Agro presents Idea Grove 1.0, powered by Exim Bank.
On Saturday, August 20, 2022, at East Delta University's permanent campus, the six finalist teams competed in the ultimate challenge for a taste of victory, according to a press release.
Idea Grove 1.0 was a marketing-based Inter-University Idea Competition where undergraduate students from different universities all around the country came up with prolific ideas in order to crack the cases with their innovative, creative, and critical thinking. It was an amazing opportunity for all the students to let their ideas flow and come together to generate impactful solutions by bringing fresh perspectives.
On July 26, 2022, the event was officially established with the theme "Groove your Ideation." Since the start of the competition, it had sought out the best talents from universities across the country. More than 430 undergrad students from more than 26 universities across the country participated in the competition. The competition consisted of three rounds, known as qualifiers and semi-finals, which were held online, and the grand finale was held on the permanent campus of East Delta University.
Participants were given a marketing case during the first round of the competition, and they had to submit a PPT file with their solution. 33 teams made it through that round and were given the opportunity to submit a recorded video presentation in the semi-final round. Six teams were chosen as the finalists after competing against more than a hundred teams from various universities in two rounds of fierce competition: Team Homelander from IBA-Dhaka University, Team Elder Wand from North South University, Azor Ahai from Army IBA, Connecting Dots from East Delta University, No Preemption from Bangladesh University of Professionals, and Team Crashers once again from Bangladesh University of Professionals.
The three most reputable individuals served as judges for the grand finale, where the six finalist teams presented live in front of Tanvir Shahriar Rimon, CEO of Ranks FC Properties LTD., Tashrif Islam, Activation Executive of British American Tobacco, and Farah Shahrookh Raza, Head of Marketing & Branding, BSRM. The most challenging job was the presentation, since competitors had only two and a half hours to pitch their ideas and had to withstand a demanding questioning session from the judges, who meticulously underlined every detail and sought smart answers.
A.U.R. Agro served as the event's title sponsor, Exim Bank served as the platinum sponsor, while Asia Group, The English Academy, and NZSK served as the event's gold sponsors. The Daily Purbodesh, Chittagong Live, CTG Shongbad, and CTG Times were the media partners.
Prior to the announcement, Mr. Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, Vice President of BGMEA, the event's chief guest, delivered a wonderful speech to motivate the audience. Professor M. Sekandar Khan, Vice Chancellor of East Delta University, served as the event's chair. Mohammad Ishraful Alam, The English Academy's CEO and Director, and Syed Rakin Mahmood, the organization's director of academic services, were the honorees.
