Some 80 people with disabilities were recruited through instant interview during a day-long job fair held in the city on Saturday.
A total of 300 disabled people attended the fair where some 30 companies participated aiming to recruit.
The job fair for people with disabilities held at the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) headquarters in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Business and Disability Network (BBDN) in collaboration with Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE) and Access Bangladesh Foundation with support from International Labour Organisation organised the fair.
The main purpose of the fair was to create employment opportunity for people with disabilities and to inform and encourage the recruiting companies about the skills and capabilities of such people, organisers said.
Principle Coordinator for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) affairs of the Prime Minister's Office Md Abul Kalam Azad was present as the chief guest at a seminar held at the sideline of the fair.
Acting Labour Secretary Afroza Khan and BGMEA President Md Siddiqur Rahman, among others, were present at the seminar.
