Digital financial service Nagad is now available in the 64 districts of the country, Bangladesh Postal Division said on Tuesday.
After completing registration process, anyone can avail services of Nagad from all district post office branches and key market places, a press release said.
A registered cell phone connection and national identity card are required to complete user registration process through Digital KYC verification.
According to the press release, Nagad initiated Digital KYC verification for ensuring hassle free user registration and verification process.
The authorities will use artificial intelligence for real time verification of user data and cross match the NID information with the election commission database, the press release said.
The application form for user registration will be filled up automatically by retrieving data from election commission database. The entire registration process will take less than 30 seconds for each user registration.
Since the official launch by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on March 26 this year, Bangladesh Post Office has been able to take these services near doorsteps of the users in all the 64 districts within seven days.
More than 100,000 agents will provide the financial service across the country, said the press release.
Sushanta Kumar Mandal, Director General of Bangladesh Post Office, said they want to connect the remotest areas of Bangladesh to bring the digital financial services to the doorsteps of marginal people.
They will also get the benefits of Digital Bangladesh through their efforts, he said.
The BPO DG hopes to take the services of Nagad to the union level by next quarter.
